Baseball Game Preview: Bardstown Tigers vs. Anderson County Bearcats

The Bardstown Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Anderson County Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bardstown will be strutting in after a win while Anderson County will be coming in after a defeat.

On Thursday, Bardstown needed a bit of extra time to put away Hart County. They won by a run and slipped past the Raiders 6-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Bardstown's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Nalley, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Nalley is becoming a predictor of the Tigers' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 3-15-1 when he doesn't). Another was Landen Snellen, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Anderson County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to Lafayette, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Anderson County's defeat dropped their record down to 12-18. As for Bardstown, their win bumped their record up to 5-16-1.

Bardstown came up short against Anderson County when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 5-1. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
