Tygarts Valley suffers seventh straight loss on the road

The Tygarts Valley Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They lost to Braxton County on the road by a decisive 54-36 margin.

Tygarts Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyssa Swecker, who scored five points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Kailen Yokum, who scored ten points along with three steals.

Tygarts Valley's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-4. As for Braxton County, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Tygarts Valley will head out on the road to face off against Pocahontas County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Pocahontas County is ranked 72nd, while Tygarts Valley is ranked 82nd). As for Braxton County, they will be playing at home against Clay County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Clay County comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
