Softball Game Preview: North Stars vs. East Bakersfield Blades

For the second straight game, North will face off against East Bakersfield. The Stars are taking a road trip to face off against the Blades at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. North is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.

North will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs two weeks ago, then bounced right back against East Bakersfield on Tuesday. The Stars put the hurt on the Blades with a sharp 17-4 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Stars as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Natalie De Leon was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Arianna Cordova was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

North always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .684. They are 12-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

North's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 14-8. As for East Bakersfield, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.
