Volleyball Recap: Cross Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Cross had already won eight in a row and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They came out on top against the Battery Creek Dolphins by a score of 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Cross easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-16.

Sydney Hollings paced Cross' offense, picking up 11 kills. Hollings got some help from Savannah Hollings and her 20 assists. Ryan Mayers controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Cross' victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Battery Creek, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Cross wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Andrew Jackson Academy on the 20th. As for Battery Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Charleston Math & Science on the 17th.
