            The Converse Wildcats will head out to  face off against the Loyola College Prep Flyers  at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Both come into the  contest bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Having struggled with four  losses in a row, Converse  turned things around against Oak Hill  on Thursday. They walked away with  a   4-1  win over the Rams.
 Mavrick Mitchell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits. That's the fewest  earned runs  he has allowed since back in February.
 On the hitting side, Converse's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Cameron Durr, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Loyola College Prep hadn't done well against Minden recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Thursday. Loyola College Prep narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past Minden  2-1. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Flyers.
 Loyola College Prep also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in:  Gavin Brint gave up a  run (which was  unearned)  on four hits and racked up nine Ks. That's the most  strikeouts  Brint has posted since back in February.
 Converse's record is now 10-13. As for Loyola College Prep, their record now sits at 18-7-1.
 Converse might still be hurting after the  10-0 defeat they got from Loyola College Prep  in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024. Can Converse avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
