Baseball Recap: Hinsdale Central Comes Up Short

Hinsdale Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Genesee Valley Jaguars, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-1 back in March.

Hinsdale Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Robert Childs, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Childs has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

Hinsdale Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Genesee Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hinsdale Central will challenge Friendship at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bobcats are facing the Golden Eagles at the right time seeing as the Golden Eagles are stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Genesee Valley, they will take on Bolivar-Richburg at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight.
