Basketball Game Preview: Momence Momence Athletics vs. Gardner-South Wilmington Panthers

The Momence Momence Athletics will head out to challenge the Gardner-South Wilmington Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Momence saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 50-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Herscher.

Despite their loss, Momence saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nick Charbonneau, who posted 14 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Lynch, who earned six points.

Meanwhile, Gardner-South Wilmington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-37 heartbreaker at the hands of Lisle.

Gardner-South Wilmington's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Momence, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Momence and Gardner-South Wilmington were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but Momence came up empty-handed after a 56-55 defeat. Can Momence avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
