Basketball Recap: Trinity Prep Lions vs. Peachtree Academy Panthers
There's no place like home for Trinity Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They blew past the Peachtree Academy Panthers 72-46 on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Trinity Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gerald Layne out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 boards. With that strong performance, Layne is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Beau Blocker was another key player, putting up 23 points and three steals.
Despite the defeat, Peachtree Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caleb Jackson posted 18 points and six rebounds. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for Jackson. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Rodriguez, who put up seven points and five assists.
Trinity Prep now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Peachtree Academy, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Trinity Prep will face off against Providence Classical Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Providence Classical Christian likes a good challenge. As for Peachtree Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-48 win against Killian Hill Christian on the 10th.
