East Duplin has gone a perfect 4-0 against North Duplin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. East Duplin will face off against North Duplin at 6:00 p.m.

Friday just wasn't the day for East Duplin's offense. They came up short against Southwest Onslow on Friday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, East Duplin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Southwest Onslow are ranked 117th).

Meanwhile, North Duplin had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.8 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Eagles a 2-0 shutout. While North Duplin didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

North Duplin pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those three contests. As for East Duplin, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-7-2.

Everything went East Duplin's way against North Duplin when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as East Duplin made off with a 9-0 victory. Will East Duplin repeat their success, or does North Duplin has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
