Volleyball Recap: Alameda Comes Up Short

Alameda was the 3-1 winner over San Leandro when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Alameda fell just short of San Leandro by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alameda started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 22-25, 26-24, 25-20, 15-9.

Eric Stowe was the offensive standout of the contest as he had 25 digs. That's the most digs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Veasna Yee Chim, who had 13 digs and one assist.

Alameda's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for San Leandro, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5.

Coincidentally, Alameda and San Leandro will both be playing Piedmont the next time they take the court. San Leandro will head out to face Piedmont at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Alameda will host them at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
