Jake Cuda posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Monday. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Cuda's strong effort led Gig Harbor over Mount Tahoma and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tides have been dominating on the road and they will enter the game having won six straight away games dating back to last season.
