Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dawson County). They came out on top against the South Forsyth War Eagles by a score of 12-8 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Ace Cochran was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Cochran was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Bryce Greenwood was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with a home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those runs marked the first that she's scored this season. Avery Heidt was another key contributor, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and a run.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Dawson County was hitting in the alleys and finished the game with five doubles. That's the most doubles they've earned since back in September of 2023.

The victory got Dawson County back to even at 3-3. As for South Forsyth, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dawson County has the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Chestatee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chestatee is coming into the game with three straight losses on the road, meaning Dawson County will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for South Forsyth, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against East Forsyth at 5:00 p.m. East Forsyth's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so South Forsyth's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
