Baseball Game Preview: Washington Hatchets vs. North Posey Vikings

The Washington Hatchets will challenge the North Posey Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Washington had taken Heritage Hills down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Hatchets came up short against the Patriots, falling 10-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Hatchets have suffered against the Patriots since April 9, 2015.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, North Posey's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of Evansville Memorial by a score of 6-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Colby Angel made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Ethan Mansfield was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

North Posey's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Washington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10.

Washington couldn't quite get it done against North Posey when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 13-9. Can the Hatchets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
