Baseball Game Preview: Morenci Wildcats vs. San Miguel Vipers

The Morenci Wildcats will square off against the San Miguel Vipers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Morenci has three straight wins, San Miguel has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Morenci made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Willcox, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wildcats beat the Cowboys on Monday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-1. The game was the first time the Wildcats have beaten the Cowboys on their field since April 12, 2022.

Anthony Roybal was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Shane Seballos was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, San Miguel fell victim to Bisbee and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Pumas, falling 22-0.

San Miguel's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Morenci, their victory bumped their record up to 11-13.
