Basketball Recap: Tatum Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Tatum and Mesa Vista squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Tatum had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 49-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Coyotes have suffered since January 8th.

Mesa Vista found their leader in freshman Aaliyah Boies, who posted 24 points and five boards. Boies is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 58 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Maestas, who put up 11 points.

Tatum moved to 25-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Mesa Vista, the victory (which was their 22nd in a row) raised their record to 29-2.
