Softball Game Preview: Squalicum Storm vs. Sehome Mariners

Squalicum is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will look to defend their home field against the Sehome Mariners at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Squalicum is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 18th straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They lost 16-4 to Friday Harbor.

Squalicum saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabi Gearhart, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Sehome didn't have quite enough to beat Shorecrest on Saturday and fell 10-8. The Mariners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rebekah Peterson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Sehome kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shorecrest only managed five hits.

Squalicum's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Sehome, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
