Softball Game Preview: Monroeville Eagles vs. Crestview Cougars

For the second straight game, Monroeville will face off against Crestview. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Monroeville fell victim to Crestview and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 1-0. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

For Crestview's part, not much got past Allison Volz, who gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Monroeville off the board. With that strong performance, Volz is now averaging an impressive 5.6 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Crestview secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Bella Hillman, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Hillman has hit this season.

Monroeville's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-3. As for Crestview, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
