Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Aquinas Academy). The stars were shining brightly for them in a 61-47 victory over the Providence Christian Academy Griffins on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Crusaders as they're now sitting on three straight.
Despite the loss, Providence Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Bryce Unruh, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Unruh has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 29 times he's played. Trey Sparrow was another key player, putting up six points.
Aquinas Academy's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-2. As for Providence Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aquinas Academy will head out to square off against Sussex Academy at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Providence Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Red Lion Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
