Softball Recap: Sycamore Has No Trouble Against Genoa-Kingston

Sycamore won the last time they faced Genoa-Kingston and things went their way on Friday too. The Spartans put the hurt on the Cogs with a sharp 14-1 win. Considering the Spartans have won 15 contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Sycamore and bumps their season record up to 22-3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Genoa-Kingston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-16-1 record this season.

Sycamore will welcome York at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games the Dukes have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Genoa-Kingston, they will head out to square off against Rochelle at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Hubs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.14 runs per game on average), something the Cogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
