Preview: Great Mills Hornets vs. Northeast Eagles
The Great Mills Hornets will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Northeast Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Great Mills had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were beaten by South Bronx Prep 60-28.
Karleigh Thomas was Great Mills' leading scorer, having posted eight points.
Telisa Adams held things down on the boards with eight rebounds. Adams took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Meanwhile, Northeast couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 48-25 walloping at the hands of Chesapeake on Friday. Northeast has not had much luck with Chesapeake recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Kamaria Brown, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
