Basketball Game Preview: Woodside Wildcats vs. Jefferson Grizzlies

The Woodside Wildcats will venture away from home to face off against the Jefferson Grizzlies at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Woodside came up short against Carlmont on Wednesday, falling 66-45. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Scots: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 68-49 bruising from Half Moon Bay. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 576th, while the Cougars are ranked 162nd).

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Woodside, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.

Woodside beat Jefferson 45-36 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Woodside since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
