Flag Football Recap: Pace Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

After flying high against Marist on Wednesday, Pace Academy came back down to earth. The Knights took a 6-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grovetown Warriors on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia flag football rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Warriors are ranked 11th).

Jill Agami threw for 125 yards while completing 76.9% of her passes. Kiyah Burrell was her top target, picking up 60 receiving yards.

The defeat snapped Pace Academy's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-4 record. As for Grovetown, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Pace Academy has already played their next matchup, a 26-0 loss against Greenbrier on the 30th. As for Grovetown, they will face off against Lakeside at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' defense has only allowed 6.4 points per game this season, so the Warriors' offense will have their work cut out for them.
