Volleyball Recap: Calabasas Triumphs

After losing to Moorpark the last time they met, Calabasas decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Coyotes came out on top against the Musketeers by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday.

Calabasas had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 26-24, 25-17, 25-18.

Their offense was headlined by Abigail Salomon and Paige Bruskrud, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Grace Yang and her ten assists. Salomon was also a major player on defense: she and she shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with five each.

Calabasas' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Moorpark, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calabasas will face off against Simi Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Moorpark, they will square off against Newbury Park at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Musketeers surely won't give up without a fight.
