Basketball Game Preview: Albemarle Bulldogs vs. North Stanly Comets

The Albemarle Bulldogs will be playing at home against the North Stanly Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Albemarle knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully North Stanly likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, Albemarle was able to grind out a solid victory over Hickory Ridge, taking the game 58-46.

Albemarle had a senior duo take command as Amari Baldwin dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards and Jasmine Brown dropped a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds. Baldwin is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 48 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Bianca Robinson, who posted six points and 12 boards.

Albemarle smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, North Stanly strolled past Gray Stone Day with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 34-19.

Albemarle has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.4 points over those games. As for North Stanly, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Everything came up roses for Albemarle against North Stanly in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured an 80-15 win. Will Albemarle repeat their success, or does North Stanly have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
