Basketball Recap: Bremen Victorious

LaVille came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Bremen, but Chase Devine wouldn't allow it. The Bremen Lions secured a 65-60 W over the LaVille Lancers on Friday thanks in part to Devine, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 32 points and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Bremen's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Miller, who posted five points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Despite the loss, LaVille still got an impressive performance from Collin Czarnecki, who went 12 of 22 on his way to 32 points in addition to five boards and four steals. The match was Czarnecki's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andre Gonzales, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points.

Bremen's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for LaVille, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Elkhart Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Bremen will host Elkhart Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while LaVille will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th.
