Basketball Recap: Chavez Takes a Loss

Chavez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 48-25 to the Monroe Vikings. The Eagles were down 41-18 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Monroe had a senior duo take command as Jevonte Brown posted 14 points and Jorge Hernandez earned 11 points.

Chavez's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Monroe, their victory bumped their record up to 5-15.

Coming up, Chavez won't have much time to rest: their next game is against North Hollywood at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Chavez is facing North Hollywood at the right time seeing as North Hollywood is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Monroe, they and Grant will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played.
