Football Recap: Murrieta Mesa Starts Season with Victory at Home + How To Watch

Murrieta Mesa took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They secured a 33-27 W over the Newport Harbor Sailors.

Coleman Jones was the offensive standout of the match as he threw for 162 yards and two touchdowns. What's more, he racked up 103.9 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

Jake Meer and Shane McKibbin certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Meer threw for 230 yards and three TDs, while McKibbin picked up 149 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Coming up, Murrieta Mesa is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on Vista Murrieta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
