Basketball Game Preview: Richwoods Knights vs. Peoria Lions

The Richwoods Knights will head out to face off against the Peoria Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Richwoods has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Richwoods will head into Tuesday's match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 20-point drubbing they dealt Bloomington on Tuesday. Richwoods blew past Bloomington 68-48. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Purple Raiders are ranked 538th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Peoria had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Metamora by a score of 55-42 on Tuesday.

Peoria's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Richwoods, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Richwoods came up short against Peoria when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 63-57. Can Richwoods avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
