Basketball Game Preview: Uintah Utes vs. Rock Springs TIGERS

The Uintah Utes will take on the Rock Springs TIGERS in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rock Springs took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Uintah, who comes in off a win.

On Saturday, Uintah didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Richfield, but they still walked away with a 37-32 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Utes.

Kenadie Maughan had another great game (as she tends to do), dropping a double-double with 19 points and 19 boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last 14 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Izzie Lawson, who posted seven points and eight boards.

Uintah smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Rock Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 51-27 to Central.

Uintah's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Rock Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
