Softball Recap: Wewahitchka Wins Going Away Against St. John Paul II

After only one run in their last match, Wewahitchka made sure to put some runs up on the board against St. John Paul II on Thursday. Wewahitchka blew past St. John Paul II 12-0. Considering the Gators' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Wewahitchka got a big performance out of Lauren Brant, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Brant a new career-high. Jayla Clayton also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Wewahitchka's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for St. John Paul II, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wewahitchka will head out to take on Port St. Joe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wewahitchka will need to watch out since Port St. Joe has now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for St. John Paul II, a feisty cat fight will be fought as St. John Paul II Panthers duke it out with Blountstown Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
