Basketball Recap: Bryce Valley Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bryce Valley can now relate to. They fell 49-42 to the Tabiona Tigers on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.

Bryce Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Rustyn Chynoweth, who went 6-for-11 en route to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Andrus, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Tabiona's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gavin Rhoades led the charge by dropping a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards. Rhoades has been hot, having posted 12 or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Bryson Fabrizio was another key player, shooting 50% from the field to rack up 14 points.

Bryce Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 12-16. As for Tabiona, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Bryce Valley nor Tabiona have any future games scheduled.
