Volleyball Recap: Cascade Wins Going Away Against North Montgomery

Cascade barely beat North Montgomery the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cadets were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Chargin' Chargers on Monday. The Cadets have beaten the Chargin' Chargers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Chargin' Chargers has come to flipping the script.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-13, 25-18.

Lacie Godby was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had seven digs and four aces. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 11 times she's played. Suzy Moore was another key player, getting seven digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Cascade was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive games.

Despite the loss, North Montgomery still got an impressive performance from Kate Merica, who had seven digs and two aces.

Cascade's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for North Montgomery, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Cascade didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Danville on the 16th. As for North Montgomery, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Indiana School for the Deaf on the 16th.
