Softball Game Preview: McCrory Jaguars vs. East Poinsett County Warriors

The McCrory Jaguars are taking a road trip to take on the East Poinsett County Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

McCrory took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Des Arc by a score of 12-9.

East Poinsett County came out on top against Rivercrest on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run seventh inning. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Colts. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by eight runs or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for East Poinsett County and bumps their season record up to 16-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for McCrory, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

McCrory couldn't quite get it done against East Poinsett County in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 3-0. Can the Jaguars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
