Recap: Oroville Tigers vs. Orland Trojans
The Oroville Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 71-44 defeat at the hands of Orland. Oroville has struggled against Orland recently, as their match on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Oroville saw an underclassman step up: Kevin Taylor scored 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Taylor has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jantzen Demitrial, who scored 11 points.
Zach Story continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Orland, scoring 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Story continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Preston Carlson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Oroville has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Orland, their victory bumped their record up to 16-10.
Oroville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Orland, they will be playing at home against Corning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Orland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
