League recap: Serrato dominating on the mound for Fleming

1A District 4 league recap: 5/14/12

Tanner Serrato was the best pitcher in 1A District 4 this week. He won two games and struck out 18 batters.

Trevor Chintala was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .368 average with six RBIs. Meanwhile, Fleming put together a 1-1 week.

The Wildcats' pitching staff dominated this week, allowing only 36 hits and 15 walks, both of which led the league. Fleming's pitchers have been charged with only 113 hits and have struck out 225 batters. Serrato is tops on the staff with 106 Ks.

The Wildcats, the season leader in runs scored at 198, added to their total with a league-high 45 runs this week. Serrato is the team leader in runs scored with 33, while Caleb Knowles has driven in a team-best 22 runs with his bat.

The Wildcats' Casey Henry finished his week with eight hits, tops in the league. On the season, he's hitting .455 and ranks second in the league with 30 hits.
