Softball Recap: Oxnard Extends Winning Streak to Four

Oxnard won the last time they faced Buena and things went their way on Monday too. The Yellowjackets came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 6-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Yellowjackets, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Rachel Godoy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kayla Lorona, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Cydnie Gutierrez was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

Oxnard's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Buena, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
