Soccer Recap: Veterans Memorial Takes Down Del Rio in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Veterans Memorial had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their defense stepped up to hand the Del Rio Rams a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Veterans Memorial's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 229th, while Del Rio are ranked 74th).

The win made it two in a row for Veterans Memorial and bumps their season record up to 15-9-1. As for Del Rio, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5-2.

Coming up, Veterans Memorial will square off against Bowie on Thursday. Del Rio does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
