Baseball Recap: Pinelands Regional Takes a Loss

Pinelands Regional extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-13 in the process. They came up short against the Manchester Township Hawks, falling 11-3. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hawks earlier this season, when they won 7-5.

As for Manchester Township, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games.

For Manchester Township's part, the team relied heavily on Justyce Garcia, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave Garcia a new career-high. Brenden Spaziano was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

While Pinelands Regional had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
