Volleyball Recap: Coastal Academy Takes a Loss

Coastal Academy lost against Maranatha Christian back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Stingrays lost 3-0 to the Eagles.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-21, 25-13.

Zac Garland paced Coastal Academy's offense, picking up 15 kills. Garland got some help from Cole Sulouff and his 24 assists. Sulouff was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Coastal Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Maranatha Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Coastal Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Oceanside at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Maranatha Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Southwest SD on the 11th.
