Football Recap: Lewis County Minutemen vs. Grafton Bearcats
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Fairmont, Lewis County was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Grafton Bearcats by a score of 27-20. The Minutemen's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Despite the loss, Grafton still got an impressive performance from Dillan America, who picked up 175 receiving yards and two touchdowns. America's receiving production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 114 receiving yards. Grafton also got help from Chace Kinsey, who showed off his sure hands for 81 receiving yards.
Lewis County pushed their record up to 5-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.7 points per game. As for Grafton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
