Softball Recap: A.C. Reynolds Sets Scoring Season-High Against Asheville

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Enka, A.C. Reynolds was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Asheville Cougars as A.C. Reynolds made off with a 17-0 win. The Rockets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Catherine Welch looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jordan Dorsey was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Kaylea Harper was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

A.C. Reynolds always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Asheville only posted an OBP of .182.

The victory got A.C. Reynolds back to even at 4-4. As for Asheville, they are on a 26-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

A.C. Reynolds didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-0 defeat against Owen on the 20th. As for Asheville, they have also already played their next matchup, a 16-0 loss against Polk County on the 20th.
