Basketball Game Preview: Verona Wildcats vs. Oregon Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Verona Wildcats take on the Oregon Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday... Verona knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Oregon likes a good challenge.

Verona will head into Saturday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 33) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Vel Phillips Memorial out 72-70.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Oregon beat Elkhorn 67-61 on Saturday.

Verona's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.7 points per game. As for Oregon, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
