Softball Recap: Westside Comes Up Short

Westside suffered their biggest defeat since March 14th on Thursday. They lost 12-2 to the Brookland Bearcats. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Warriors, who until this matchup were averaging 3.17 runs allowed.

Vada Watkins was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Westside moved to 18-12 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Brookland, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-4.

Westside didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-8 win against Tuckerman on the 5th. As for Brookland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 5-3 victory against Lonoke on the 8th.
