Norco and Great Oak are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but likely not for long. The Cougars will challenge the Wolfpack at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Norco will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

While Norco's win against Bonita wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Bearcats 3-2.

Landon Hovermale tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and not a single walk).

Meanwhile, Great Oak posted their closest victory since March 5, 2024 on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Paloma Valley 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolfpack.

Great Oak's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Fien, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Norco's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Great Oak, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.

Norco couldn't quite finish off Great Oak in their previous matchup back in February and fell 3-1. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
