With a playoff win on the line, Knightstown rose to the challenge on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Morristown Yellow Jackets as they made off with a 14-2 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 games by seven runs or more this season.

Carter Gossett looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kelton Weaver, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted over his last ten matchups. Another player making a difference was Jackson Daves, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Knightstown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Knightstown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Morristown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.
