Baseball Game Preview: LaFayette Ramblers vs. Trion Bulldogs

LaFayette is 2-8 against Trion since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Ramblers will head out to face off against the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, LaFayette turned things around against North Murray on Monday. They put the hurt on the Mountaineers with a sharp 15-1 victory. Considering the Ramblers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Trion waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Red Devils. The game was the first time the Bulldogs have beaten the Red Devils on their field since March 10, 2022.

Trion pushed their record up to 18-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for LaFayette, their victory bumped their record up to 13-14.

LaFayette suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Trion when the teams last played back in February. Can the Ramblers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
