Baseball Recap: Vista Ridge Comes Up Short

Liberty hit Vista Ridge with a four-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolves fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 6-5. The Wolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lancers earlier this season, when they won 8-7.

Teagan Reisdorfer was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Reisdorfer wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Nelson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Kyle Rex was another, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Vista Ridge's record is now 7-12. As for Liberty, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-12.

Vista Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-3 defeat against Cheyenne Mountain on the 3rd. As for Liberty, they have also already played their next match, a 9-1 loss against Pueblo West on the 8th.
