Basketball Recap: St. Francis DeSales Takes a Loss

St. Francis DeSales was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. The contest between them and the Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs didn't end well, with the St. Francis DeSales Stallions falling 54-37. While the Stallions didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 16-11 in the first quarter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bloom-Carroll to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emma Sorrell, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 18 rebounds. Sorrell is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Whitney Passen, who went 5-for-8 on her way to 17 points.

St. Francis DeSales' defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Bloom-Carroll, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-12.

St. Francis DeSales does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bloom-Carroll, they will be taking part in a tournament against Whitehall-Yearling at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Whitehall-Yearling will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Bloom-Carroll surely won't give up without a fight.
