Recap: Bridge City Cardinals vs. Buna Cougars
The Bridge City Cardinals lost against the Buna Cougars back in November of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Bridge City took a 50-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Buna. Bridge City has struggled against Buna recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Buna's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reese Sherman led the charge by scoring 12 points along with 9 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Epps, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds.
Bridge City has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Buna, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
Bridge City will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Jasper at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. Jasper has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 16. As for Buna, they will be playing at home against Anahuac at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Anahuac's defense has only allowed 29.1 points per game this season, so Buna's offense will have their work cut out for Buna.
