The Shelby Golden Lions will take on the East Mecklenburg Eagles in a tournament on Friday. East Mecklenburg took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Shelby, who comes in off a win.

Shelby took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Kings Mountain by a score of 52-43.

Meanwhile, East Mecklenburg played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Hough, falling 55-28. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shelby will have to keep a close watch on Jurnee Darling and Alana Jones, a pair of players who had a big impact on East Mecklenburg's prior game. Darling posted six points, while Jones scored eight points and six rebounds.

The victory got Shelby back to even at 1-1. As for East Mecklenburg, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
